A long track record
A business proven through good economies and difficult ones, where customers still need what you do.
Owner-led succession
We are hands-on operators looking for one great business to lead full-time for the long term, building on what its founder has already created.
01 / Our approach
Next Ascent Partners is looking for one exceptional business where we can devote our full energy, judgment, and operating experience.
A transition is about employees, customers, reputation, and the many decisions that built the company over years. Our goal is to preserve that foundation and earn the trust to carry it forward.
02 / Acquisition criteria
A business proven through good economies and difficult ones, where customers still need what you do.
Repeat business and referrals from people who choose you for quality, reliability, or expertise, and stay because of how you treat them.
A company that has made money consistently and can continue to do so under new ownership.
You are planning for retirement, or want a partner to lead the next stage while you stay involved as an owner. Either way, you want the business to keep thriving.
A strong crew you have been able to retain, one of the clearest signs of a healthy business.
Opportunities you have already seen, ready for a committed next owner to pursue.
Size, industry & geography
Annual earnings, typically within businesses generating $3M+ in revenue.
Each is a region one of us calls home or would move to, so the business always has a partner on the ground.
03 / The partners
We have worked together across cities for nearly a decade, first at Oliver Wyman and then as co-owners of Quarter Mile Logistics.

Alongside co-owning Quarter Mile Logistics with Gabe, James spent more than five years at Faire, where he led sales operations and later an 11-person risk and fraud prevention team. He began his career advising companies on strategy and operations at Oliver Wyman.
James holds a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honours from Queen’s University. Outside of work, he is an avid traveler, hiker, and skier.

Gabe is a hands-on operator based in the Washington, D.C. area. At Quarter Mile Logistics, Gabe led people operations to retain top talent and developed analytics to improve profitability and guide growth.
